How to find the perfect fireplace for a small living area
Fireplaces are beautiful decorative assets to make your living room more inviting. But if you have a small room, special care should be taken while deciding on the fireplace. Always opt for the one which would not cover a large area.
Go for a corner fireplace which just needs a corner of the room and not your entire wall. It makes the room look more spacious. The wooden ones look very classy but are not suited for a small area. You never know when your child would crawl to it because of little moving space. Besides, wooden particles get triggered off from the place sometimes which will easily reach you because of less distance.
Thus, pick the modern electrical fireplaces. It’s safer for the children since all its wires are fixed to the back. Moreover there is no question of triggered burning pieces. Otherwise you can opt for the gel fueled ones as they require little ventilation. Proper ventilation is a problem in small areas because of lesser coverage.

Planning to build a rustic stone fireplace in your house? Here is a bit of help. First, use plywood to construct a frame of the fireplace along with the layout. Be clear about the intended size of the fireplace and the hearth and determine where you want to place the chimney. Cut a section of the plywood to fit around your existing fireplace and use your frame to build a square frame behind your plywood.
Next you will have to fill the mortar barrel with water and roll it around the yard until you get the desired consistency of the mortar. Then place the mortar across the back of the stone and place them on the plywood faceplate.
Fill in the places between the stones with extra mortar. Make sure that no wood is visible. Make a mantle that is more in width than the top of the fireplace. Centre the wood and place lag bolts. Then mount the hearth stone.
